Hawai‘i Meals on Wheels is so grateful for the support of our community! Because of your support, we are able to keep up with the ongoing demand for home-delivered meals to O’ahuʻs most frail and vulnerable kūpuna.

On Saturday, July 31, we held of our Ohana Meal Pack Drive-Thru Fundraiser in partnership with Banquet Solutions Hawaii. Mahalo to our supporters who placed over 200 orders for delicious meal packs full of Hawaiian food prepared by Local 5 hotel chefs.

Volunteers Keith and Stacy Nakano; Michelle Cordero-Lee, CEO; Kapi Muraoka, HMoW Driver; Evelyn Fonseca, Accounting and Development Specialist; and Keoki Lopez, HMoW Driver.

Thanks to the generosity of the community, we raised over $10,000 to support our mission of helping O‘ahu’s kūpuna and individuals with disabilities preserve their independence at home.

A big mahalo to our Event Co-Chair Stacy Nakano and Walter Kinoshita who organized a fun-filled day and successful fundraiser!

Mahalo nui to Banquet Solutions Hawaii, Inc. for donating over $10,000 in food for our Ohana Meal Packs! Special thanks to James Hardway, Executive Director at Hawaii Hotel and Restaurant Industry Employment and Training Trust Fund (HARIETT), and Program Manager Keith Nakano for their longtime support and coordination of meal preparation.

We received an outpouring of positive feedback about the ono meals. Compliments to the outstanding Unite Here! Local 5 hotel chefs!

We could not have pulled this fundraiser off without our volunteers led by Walter Kinoshita and Wendy Oshiro. From packing to the meals to loading them up in each vehicle, they made this drive-thru pick-up so convenient for our supporters. Mahalo for your hard work!

Thanks to your ongoing generous support, Hawai‘i Meals on Wheels is able to to keep up with the demand for home-delivered meals. In July, we delivered over 15,000 meals to clients on 74 routes throughout O’ahu!

Requests for meals have not slowed down.  A $30 donation allows us to prepare and deliver nutritious meals to a kūpuna for one week.
