Now Taking Orders For Our Thanksgiving Meal Packs!

Hawaiʻi Meals on Wheels delivers over 750 meals each day, relying on volunteers each week to help get meals into the hands of those who need them. Volunteering is designed to fit into busy schedules. Volunteers use their own vehicles to pick up meals from one of our 12 kitchen partners across Oʻahu and typically make four to eight deliveries within a neighborhood – a route that takes about an hour. On-call volunteers are also needed to help cover routes when regular volunteers are unavailable. Over 100 routes. One mission. And this month, we could really use your help. Every weekday, Hawaiʻi Meals on Wheels volunteers deliver nutritious meals and caring connections to kūpuna across Oʻahu. With a record breaking number of routes, it takes many helping hands to make sure every kūpuna receives their meal. We especially need volunteer drivers the week of August 17–21, when several members of our staff will be attending the Meals on Wheels America Annual Conference in Las Vegas. HMoW Volunteer extraordinaire, Michelle H. and her boyfriend, Don, enjoyed the Na Lei Luau at the Hyatt this past weekend, and they had a great time. In her work for Southwest Airline, Michelle has volunteered more hours than any other Southwest employee in Hawai'i, earning her flight awards for HMoW, as well as bragging rights among her colleagues.
