Hawaiʻi Meals on Wheels celebrated our 300 volunteers at our annual Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon at Keʻehi Lagoon Beach Park on Sunday, April 28, 2024. Kumu Hina opened the luncheon with a prayer and words of encouragement to our dedicated volunteers. The atmosphere was lively with music provided by the HMoW Band as volunteers enjoyed a delicious buffet lunch catered by Island Catering Service, one of our 12 kitchen partners who prepare meals for our clients. Michelle Cordero-Lee, our CEO, expressed gratitude to the volunteers, stating, “Last year we served more than 186,000 meals. That would not have been possible without you!” Our volunteers play a crucial role in our organization, including those who deliver meals, assist with administrative projects, and help at our annual fundraisers.
