The HMoW service delivery area is from Hawaii Kai to Ewa, Pearl City to Waipahu, Kaneohe, Kailua, and Waimanalo.
Meals are delivered Monday through Friday, including all weekday holidays.
Each meal is prepared by an institutional kitchen under the supervision of a licensed dietitian and provides at least 1/3 of the Recommended Daily Allowance. Each meal consists of a hot entree, a serving of vegetables, a serving of starch, dessert (often fruit), and milk or juice. Some special diets can be accommodated (e.g., diabetic, low sodium, chopped, etc.).
The full cost of delivering a meal is $16.02. At the end of each month, clients are asked to contribute toward the cost of meals they received that month. While we encourage all clients to donate something toward the cost of their meals, we will not deny service to a client who is unable to afford the total cost of his/her meals. Client contributions are accepted by check, money order, cash, credit card, or food stamps.
