Are Donations Tax Deductable? PDF Print E-mail
Donations to Hawai‘i Meals on Wheels, Inc. are tax deductable. We are a private, not-for-profit 501c(3) organization that relies on private donations to help us in our work of providing hot meals to the homebound.

Donations may be made by check or credit card (VISA and Mastercard) to Hawaii Meals on Wheels, P. O. Box 61194, Honolulu, HI 96839-1194. Feel free to contact us at 988-6747 should you have any questions or suggestions.
 
Can Organizations Volunteer? PDF Print E-mail
Your church, company, club or other organization can team up to make a difference in the lives of people who need you! Team members can rotate, so individuals deliver only once every other month or as agreed upon in team schedule.
 
What does a meal cost? PDF Print E-mail

The full cost of a meal is approximately $10.00. Clients are encouraged to donate what they can afford toward the cost of their meal. While we encourage all clients to donate something toward the cost of their meals, we will not deny service to a client who is unable to afford the total cost of his/her meals. client contributions are accepted by check, VISA/Mastercard, or Food Stamps.

 
What type of meals do we serve? PDF Print E-mail

Each meal is prepared by an institutional kitchen under the supervision of a licensed dietitian and must meet 1/3 of the Recommended Daily Allowance. A regular meal consists of a hot entree, a serving of vegetables, a serving of starch, dessert (often fruit), and milk or juice. Some special diets can be accommodated (e.g. diabetic, low sodium).
