The HMoW service delivery area is from Hawaii Kai to Kalihi, Pearl City to Aiea, Ewa, Mililani, Kaneohe, Kailua, and Waimanalo.

The Process

Faye__Mr2Clients must be homebound and unable to cook or shop for themselves. In addition, they must meet one or more of the following criteria:

  • Unable to prepare meals due to physical or mental disability and have no assistance with meal preparation.
  • Lack the physical mobility necessary to shop for food, prepare adequate meals and have no assistance with meal preparation.
  • Are convalescing following hospital discharge and require meal service temporarily.
  • Lack adequate cooking facilities and are unable to acquire them.
  • Lack proper nutritional support due to caregiver stress.
Priority is given to elders who are low income/minority and socially isolated.  Service will start within 2 days after:
  • A client is determined to be eligible for service
  • There is room on an existing delivery route for a new client
  • A client application form has been completed. Call 988-6747 Monday-Friday between 8:00 am - 4:00 pm

Persons who meet the above criteria must also:

  • be home at delivery time and willing to admit delivery volunteers into their home; and
  • have a home environment that is safe and accessible for delivery volunteers.
  • be able to feed themselves or have a caregiver to feed them
  • provide personal information to determine client eligibility and resolve emergency client situations.
  • be willing to provide a physician/health care professional verification of need.
  • agree to an initial assessment and periodic reassessment of their need for the service.

  • A Catered Experience - Area:  Mililani
  • Castle Medical Center - Areas:  Kaneohe, Kailua, Enchanted Lake, and Haiku
  • Hawaii Medical Center - Area:  Ewa 
  • Kahala Nui - Areas:  Kaimuki, Kapahulu, Kilauea, Palolo, St. Louis Heights, and Waikiki
  • Kuakini Hospital - Areas:  Kalihi, Nuuanu, and Pacific Heights
  • Lunalilo Home - Areas:  Hawaii Kai, Aina Haina, Ainakoa, and Waimanalo
  • Oahu Care Facility - Areas:  Makiki, Manoa, McCully, Punahou, University,Waikiki, and Woodlawn
  • Pali Momi - Area:  Salt Lake
  • Pearl City Nursing Home - Areas:  Aiea, Pearl City, and Waipahu
  • Straub - Area:  Kaka'ako, Kinau, and Punchbowl

Dinners are prepared by:

  • Oahu Care Facility - Area:  Kaimuki, Waikiki

Donations to Hawai‘i Meals on Wheels, Inc. are tax-deductible. We are a private, not-for-profit 501c(3) organization and rely on private donations to help us provide hot meals to the homebound.

Gift Donations
Make a Gift Donation - You can honor someone special in your life through a donation to HMoW. A gift card acknowledging your donation will be sent to celebrate special events (birthdays, Christmas) or in remembrance (memorial). Please indicate honoree’s name and address, and the occasion, in your correspondence.

Federal Employee
All federal employees are able to donate directly to Hawaii Meals on Wheels through the Combined Federal Campaign.  Simply designate to Hawaii Meals on Wheels.  Our CFC number is 48796.  100% of your designation will come straight to us!

Aloha United Way
If your company participates in any of Aloha United Way's annual campaigns, consider donating directly to Hawaii Meals on Wheels.  As a partner agency, 100% of your designation will go towards providing hot, nutritious meals for Oahu's elderly and homebound.  AUW Donor Choice Code:  70190.

Community Donations
Is your school, church, club, company, scout troop or other organization interested in a community service project? Get everyone involved and organize a fundraiser or golf tournament to benefit Hawaii Meals on Wheels.

Corporate Donations
Corporate donations are always welcome, and companies can assist in many ways - with monetary and in-kind donations, Corporate Matching Gifts programs, and table sponsorships at our Annual Gala.  We are truly grateful for the generous hearts of our corporate community!

Donate Your Vehicle

Bottom Line
For every $5.00 you donate, Hawai‘i Meals on Wheels is able to provide a hot, nutritious meal for a homebound individual.
